Ludacris Talks Being Underrated, Diplomats Reunion

With his latest album, Theater of the Mind, just days away from release, Ludacris is feeling slightly underrated when it comes to lyrical skill.

“As far as lyricism is concerned, I do feel like I’m a little underrated,” the ATL rapper told BET.com. “I think that this album is out to prove exactly that point. I feel like that there are certain places in the top 5 or the top 10 that I need to be.”

With five additional studio albums under his belt, a record label, and a budding acting career, Luda still wants to prove that he’s hungry when it comes to Hip Hop music.

“I’m letting everyone know that I’m still as hungry as day one, even though this is album number six.”

When discussing Hip Hop beefs, Ludacris offers his wishes to see the Diplomats reconcile and start recording again.

“I kind of want to see Jim Jones, Cam’ron and Juelz Santana all back together. That dipset. I don’t know if its beef because they all went their separate ways but I’d like to see them back together. That’s coming from me all day.”

Theater of the Mind hits shelves Tuesday, November 24 and features appearances from TI, Chris Rock, Common, Spike Lee and more.

50 Cent, Ludacris, Others On Tap For Final 'TRL' Airing

The final episode of MTV's Total Request Live will feature quite a few Hip Hop artists.

50 Cent has been confirmed as the only Hip Hop performer for the night, and is just one of the many artists whose careers were, without question, assisted by the show. He will be splitting stage time with Fall Out Boy, Beyonce and the Backstreet Boys.

TRL, which plays the most current, popular music videos, has helped launch music acts into public consciousness since its inception a decade ago. Eminem and many other Hip Hop artists premiered their music videos at the show, bringing them mass media attention.

Diddy, Ludacris, Mariah Carey and Snoop Dogg will also be making appearances during the show, which airs on November 16.

Carson Daly, the show's original host, will return to the airing, which is titled Final Request Live, to co-host with current host Damien Fahey.

We’ve dissected the song and gotten insight on the unauthorized verse from Roc-a-fella sources and Just Blaze. We’ve heard Fat Joe’s response to the controversy. And now DJ Khaled has issued a statement.

“I heard about it, and what’s so crazy is that, I was told it’s a five year old verse and that it wasn’t real…Jay-Z is a great friend of mine and I plan to work with him in the future; musically and entrepreneur style, too.”

Fat Joe’s statement on the resurfaced Jay-Z verse:

“I have no beef whatsoever with Jay-Z. In fact, we share a common goal…helping to get Barack Obama elected on Nov. 4th.”
