For many, it was not that long ago that 50 Cent dropped "In Da Club" [click to read]. For Soulja Boy [click to read], this takes him back, way back to the time he decided he wanted to rap for a living. Now, the young rapper is ready to hit stores with a new album, iSouljaBoy and he's predicting a take-over. Now, he's also dabbling in clothing, which he's also hyped about.
"It was 50 Cent's 'In Da Club,'" he told MTV. "When I seen that, I was like, 'That's what I wanna do.'"
The young one is now ready to expand his own catalog by adding more material. With iSouljaBoy, he is now no longer alone behind the boards. This time, as we reported earlier this year, he has worked with Polow Da Don.
"I worked with Polow [Da Don] on this album. He did the first single. I remember last year, [when I was] touring, 'Crank That' would be on the radio every five minutes. I was like, 'Man!' This is exactly what this album is gonna do: straight takeover! I did production on this one. I accepted a lot of beats from underground cats on this album. I just shoot my e-mail out on the hip sites. I play off by ear, not off who's doing it. I like music."
Recently, Soulja Boy put more emphasis on clothing. The rapper signed a multi-year deal with Yums Shoes. According to reports, Interscope and Soulja Boy will assist the brand with marketing help.
"The Soulja Boy exclusive shoe will be released in the fall along with my album. The Soulja Boy cartoon will also be released in the fall, so there's three things to look out for," he said, according to Billboard.
He will appear in print ads and television ads and he's also slated to co-design his sneakers.
As stated by Soulja Boy, expect both the sneakers and his new album, iSoulja Boy out in the fall.

More Details Surface On The New Usher Album

Holding the #1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 Singles chart for the second week in a row, Usher is clearly in a position to lead his fans and listeners through untouched territories. Some of the subjects at hand; marriage, maturity, and loyalty to his fans.
In a report from MTV, a few producers on Here I Stand explained the direction that Usher has planned to layout for his upcoming album. Polow Da Don stated he worked with Usher on two records, one of which is called “Angel.” Finished last December, Polow felt the vibe of the track was a mature stance that Usher was striving for when describing his marriage. “I'm not married or close to being married — I don't even have a girlfriend — I'm like, 'Maaan! How do you get married? Especially you, Usher. How do you get married?' He's so sincere about it, regardless [of what] everybody else thinks".
Polow also said the first verse on “Angel” is dedicated to Usher’s mother. “He's [singing] about being a little kid, being a badass and taking his mother through the hardship and not realizing the whole time she was always there. She is his angel.”
Past collaborators Dre & Vidal will also make an appearance on Here I Stand. The duo worked on 15 records (it is unknown at this time how many will eventually make the cut) with Usher last year and definitely found a vibe in the studio.
A guaranteed product from the sessions though is the title track “Here I Stand” which Vidal described as “A classic. It's a smash. It shows that despite all the things he's been through, he's still here”. Vidal went on to say that Usher’s message reached out to his fans and family as well. “The song is saying, 'No matter how far I go, no matter how long it takes, here I stand".

Polow Da Don On His Attempted Robbery

After reports of hit-making producer Polow Da Don being robbed at gunpoint last night hit the net, the Atlanta-based producer released a press release about the story.
Early reports say masked gunmen broke in on a recording session and forced him and a group of men alongside him to the floor. It's been speculated that Polow and the other Zone 4 affiliates in the studio were robbed of money and jewelry but no one was hurt.
Polow released a statement this afternoon calling his attackers weak and saying their attempt failed.
"They thought they came to rob me, but I have heart and I have God shawty ...These crack head ass n*ggaz I guess called themselves robbing me, but we robbed them. I wasn't scared I was mad," Polow said via his Blackberry. "I was likes 'these dumb ass, weak ass n*ggas.' n*ggas don't get it. You gone have to shoot me because until then, I don't believe you. I am a man and nine times out of 10, a n*gga calling himself a robba, a thug or a gangsta is a cover up for being too weak (whether it be physically, spiritually or mentally) to be a man. It's hard to learn how to be a man. Luckily, my teacher stuck with me ... Thanks Dad, I love you! Kids, do you know where your father is right now?"
The producer is still in good spirits and doesn't plan on letting last night's incident get in the way of his success.
"By the way, don't let this negativity overshadow the celebration of having the No. 1 song in the country," Polow said, referencing the Usher and Jeezy collabo he produced, "Love in the Club."
