Vanessa Simmons Stars In New Play
Actor, playwright and Obie Award winner, J. Kyle Manzay [American Gangster, Law & Order], presents his newest work – The Actor’s Rap. This Hip Hop-infused comedy stars Manzay, Michael Newman and Vanessa Simmons. Simmons, daughter of Reverend Run [of Run-DMC] plays “Lil’ Tease” in this play where pop culture meets satire.
The plot examines downward spiral of an African-American actor, played by Manzay who loses roles to a famous rapper-turned-actor. Viewers will find themselves involved in a hilarious sequence of events ensue and all involved with have an uproariously grand time.
For those in the New York area, opening night is on Friday, February 8th at the Engelman Recital Hall, Baruch Performing Arts Center [55 Lexington Avenue at 25th Street]. The show starts at 8pm, Thursday thru Saturday, with two shows on the weekend at 3pm and 8pm.

Niggas cant even name this fucking movie had I not named it for you. LOL. Krush Groove is a must watch dvd for all you hip hop lovers and here is another clip from the Fat Boys music video within the movie. I sing this song every time someone around me is grubbin. lol

This film is based on the early days of Def Jam Recordings and up-and-coming record producer Russell Simmons (re-named Russell Walker in the film), portrayed by Blair Underwood in his feature film debut. Russell Simmons was the film's co-producer and story consultant; he also has a cameo role in the film as a club owner named Crocket.
