Although some people may be counting Young Buck out of the game due to his less-than-amicable split from G-Unit [click to read], the Cashville rapper isn't phased. "The name of my record is The Rehab," he told MTV News in Atlanta. "Straight up, that's where I been at." Buck added that he and the Outlawz are planning to put out their separate projects around the same time. "You can expect for their album at the top of the year," he said. "Hopefully it comes January, no later than February. "Regardless of whatever you may hear, whatever dealing with Buck, what you see is what you get. Honestly, to be real, 50 [Cent] made the statement to the world that 'Buck is no longer a part of G-Unit, but he's still an artist on the label,' so whenever I guess he gets over his situation and figures out his album, I guess we'll come to terms and figure out a release date on my album. Until then, I ain't stoppin'. That's why I'm going so hard with the mixtapes. I'm everywhere. Hopefully, we'll get a release on my album in January or February." Buck's goal with the album? To sell a million in a week. But Buck indicated that if 50 is willing to negotiate, he has prospects ready to buy him out of his contract. "I'm trying to get totally away from the whole G-Unit situation, period," he said. "If I can directly deal with Interscope, so be it. I only got two albums left anyway. So at this point, all I'm trying to do is fulfill what I got left with homeboy and move on. It's already understood that the relationship with me and G-Unit will never be the same, so you don't ever have to look forward to seeing me back with G-Unit. That's not my thing. I'm staying down with the streets, and the streets are staying down with me." HipHopDx
Philadelphia rapper Freck Billionaire has signed on to work with music label Philthy Rich Records. Besides giving him the benefits of a solo artist, the deal, spearheaded by the label's founder Floyd Mayweather, Jr., will make Freck co-CEO, and will give him the opportunity to promote his own label, CBL Entertainment Worldwide. Although Freck has had multiple run-ins with the law, including being arrested 19 times in less than four years, and an arrest for allegedly selling crack this past March, Mayweather is excited to have him on the team. "What [Freck] raps about is what we really living. Because we're family, we're one family." In addition to signing the deal, Billionaire is also in the process of recording an album with Street Family, a group that will consist of Fabolous, Red Cafe, Paul Cain, and himself. Their debut album is scheduled for release sometime in early 2009 on the Island Def Jam Music Group.
Although many news outlets reported T.I.'s next single be "Swing Ya Rag," the clip never made it on major television networks. That left fans asking about the video. Recently, Tip spoke openly about the video controversy and more on what fans can still expect from Paper Trail. It seems Louis Vuitton and Gucci were not happy to have their product featured in the video. "We did it, and it came out hot," T.I. told MTV. "Louis [Vuitton] and Gucci started trippin' about it. They were saying we were infringing, in one way or another. They weren't happy about it. They didn't want it to come out. But it's hot, though." He also added that more singles would be coming from Paper Trail. "Live Your Life," a Just Blaze-produced song which features Rihanna will be out soon, and "Swagger Like Us" can be a potential last single. "I hope we can pull that off," T.I. adds. "That was the definite intentions initially. We have to see when everybody is all available. I'm available whenever they are." Currently, he is planning a tour and working on his latest film, Bone Deep. HipHopDx
(This is a pic of his daughter and his baby mother) Weezy F. Baby is having another baby. Lil Wayne announced Saturday night during the BET Hip-Hop Awards that he's having his first son in just a "couple of days." He was onstage accepting the Lyricist of the Year Award when he told the crowd at the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center of his impending bundle of joy. Not even three quarters into the show, Wayne had already jumped on the stage with DJ Khaled and a community of friends to help his mouthy friend accept an award; joined Common, T-Pain and Busta Rhymes during N.E.R.D.'s "Spazz"; and won the People's Champ Award. Another Weezy highlight was his collision of skills with T-Pain and Ludacris during "Can't Believe It" and "Chopped & Screwed." With all this commotion, you'd think Wayne would be relishing the spotlight. Nah. He told MTV News earlier in the day he'd rather be in the studio. Next on his plate is the release of a new album, Tha Carter III. Think it's already out? You're correct. However, the tireless New Orleans mic fiend says he's dropping a new version of the album with all brand-new songs: He said clearly that the record is not — repeat not — Tha Carter IV. Wayne also won the MVP of the Year award, beating out Jay-Z, DJ Khaled, T.I. and Kanye West. He dedicated the award to his daughter.

Well now 50 Stans can rejoice as “Blood on the Sand” has found a new home with publisher THQ and is officially back on the release schedule. With the rights to the game, three days ago THQ filed for a ratings board claim with the Australian Classification Board which gave the game a MATURE 15+ (strong violence and coarse language, sexual and drug references) rating. Now that the rating has been officially stated, THQ can continue with packaging and marketing development. No word on exact release date but rumors have it still pegged for a Holiday 2008 release.

Rick Ross now admits he had in fact been a Florida correctional officer for 18 months. Photos originally surfaced of Ross (real name William Leonard Roberts) in July on the website TheSmokingGun.com. After seeing the pictures, Ross initially told AllHipHop.com the photos were doctored. "Online hackers put my face when I was a teenager in high school on other peoples' body," said Ross. "If this shit was real don't you think they would have more specifics, like dates and everything? Fake pictures are created by the fake, meant to entertain the fake." In subsequent interviews, Ross would go on to blame the uncovered photos on everything from digital manipulation to "haters." But in the latest issue of Don Diva magazine, the Florida emcee changes course regarding his pre-rap career. "Yes, it's me," Ross tells Don Diva. "I never tried to hide my past. I put my name inside my CDs. My company has my [Social Security number]. I could've put a company name...I done been up and I done been down and that's what makes me what I am. I never ratted on a nigga. I never prosecuted a nigga. I never locked up a nigga, that's first and foremost. I always felt that me being the nigga that I am, I never owed a nigga an explanation. When I'm making my music and I'm talking about blow, it's because I did it. When I say that I'm rich off cocaine, it's because I did it. Those are the street principals that apply." HipHopDx

Good Grief, Jimmy Jones from jeff on Vimeo . In a recent interview with Complex Magazine, Jim Jones says Jay-Z and T.I. don't have swagger and talks about his remake of "Swagger Like Us." The original version of "Swagger Like Us" features Jay-Z, T.I., Lil' Wayne and Kanye West and appears on T.I.'s new album "Paper Trail." Complex asked Jones what he thought of Jay-Z and T.I.'s swagger and he had this to say. On T.I. "I don’t feel like he possesses any swag. Not like that. It’s fabricated. They’re watching other people, then they try and do it. You know people that dress like T.I.? You know people that go out and say let me get a T.I. outfit or do you know people who say “yo, you’re looking like Jim Jones?” Which one? Lemme hear it! When the b*tches want to f*ck you and the n*ggas want be like you, who got the swag? N*ggas with money and fame always going to look like they doing something ’cause they got the camera in front of them. But the cool dudes always stick out no matter where they at." On Jay-Z: "...look at the Vibe cover. Tell me who Jay-Z looks like in there? Did you see the picture of him? With the Louis Vuitton scarf and all that. Who did that resemble? You can say it. But he did it wrong; he had a Gucci belt with a Louis Vuitton scarf. Who does that? You smell me? That’s like wearing one Nike and one Puma; how you going to get away with that? But I didn’t take the song as a shot, because I don’t feel like none [besides Weezy] of them possess any swag." Jones remake of "Swagger Like Us" called "Jackin' Swagger From Us" featuring new verses from Lil' Wayne and Juelz Santana along with a reworked hook from M.I.A. is expected to appear on Jones new album "Pray For Rain."
Producing music was never enough for Kanye West. For the past three years now, Kanye has been aggressively been pursuing TV and movie deals that have him in producing and possibly directing roles. He had been in talks with HBO for the past couple of months in hopes of developing a “Curb Your Enthusiasm” type show for the premium cable network. Unfortunately due to a change in senior management strategy at HBO that project was just put on hold and shelved this week. When Kanye first developed the idea he even went as far to compare himself to “Curb” creator Larry David. Larry recalls the first time he met Kanye.“What Kanye West said to me the first time, he said, ‘I’m the black Larry David.’ That’s the first thing he said to me. So it’s like a Kanye-and-’Curb’ show, it’s kind of improvised about the situations and stuff.” David then continued to add more details as to what happened to Kanye’s TV show. “It was really good, but … I think it was too hardcore for HBO.” Charles went on to say “People gave it a very good response and it seems to be on the shelf right now. The management has shifted at HBO so we’re waiting to see.” Regardless, Kanye still will be entering the TV world. But instead of a Kanye-type “Curb Your Enthusiasm” he is bringing us a muppets gone hip-hop show called “Alligator Boots.” Check out a preview of that show here. On the movie front, Kanye originally had signed on with New Line Cinema for a production deal but since New Line was absorbed into parent company Warner Brothers, further progress has been halted. It’s only a matter of time though before we see a Kanye West produced movie. He is aggressively trying to enter the market as a behind-the-scenes producer and director and his passion for film is easily shown in his music videos and concert tours which always push the boundaries of creativity. Rumors in Hollywood also have it that West’s manager Gee Roberson continues to take an increased role working with the William Morris Agency to get more and more TV and film projects for West. Considering “Love Lockdown,” maybe a romantic comedy is in the works. Woooha
Dre sent over a bunch of beats, and we’re just going through them all, picking out who wants what,” the G-Unit chief told Blender from Eminem’s Detroit home, where he was spending the night. “We already finished one joint”–the Slim Shady-starring “Norman Bates Motel”–”and just started vocals on another. It’s gonna blow you away, I guarantee.
